Food & Community National Gathering: May 22-24, 2012

To: Members of the Food & Community Movement

After ten consecutive years of supporting the growing Food and Society and Food & Community movements through an annual convening, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation now plans to hold the meeting on a biennial basis, making our next gathering in Spring 2012.

Please save May 22-24, 2012 for our next national Food & Community network gathering to be held at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.

We remain strongly committed to the Food & Community movement and to our national network of partners, and plan to support the convening of smaller, focused groups during the interim in 2011. We will keep you apprised of our plans for interim convening opportunities in the coming months.

In the meantime, we hope this information and lead time is useful as you plan and map your own organization's agenda over the course of the next year. The rewards of decades of work and investment in support of a healthier, more equitable food system are evident around us, as are the great challenges and opportunities that remain for us to confront in partnership. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation remains committed to this key issue of our times, as well as to the principle of continuing to work with our allies toward the vision of a vibrant, inclusive and just society.
